This open front dog house was a client requested piece. I was provided with rough size requirements and a general concept he was after. We discussed ideas back and forth until the client was satisfied with a final design and size.
As you can see it was built specifically fit on the side of his front porch and finish level with the porch height. It was constructed entirely with reclaimed Karri, all framing was built with Mortise & Tenon joinery with all panels fitting in grooves. Additionally the roof was constructed on an angle to allow for water run off.
Lastly I filled all holes & cracks with rapid set epoxy to ensure it the inside remained safe from leaks and treated the timber with exterior grade, weather proof polyurethane.
